Cannot open macro enabled files in Excel

I have two different macro enabled files that I cannot open in Excel when I logged in from my user-account on my laptop.  For each I am receiving the following error messages.

Both files are located in a network folder and both are used by multiple users.  To my knowledge I am the only user having difficulty.  I began having the problem with one file 3 months ago but was able to use the other file until today.

I can log in remotely to other computers and user accounts and open and use both files.

Any ideas?

    Hi Derek,

Opening, editing, and saving files may depend on how the files are stored or visible on the computer. For us to better assist you, please answer the questions below:

    • Where the file came from? Is this a shared file or a personal file that you’re the one who created it?
    • Is this happening to all files saved on your computer?
    • Are you able to open this file in another PC or user account? If yes, is that device connected to a domain?

If this is a shared file, we recommend contacting the owner or creator of this file because you also need permission to allow you to open it in a different user account. Once you’ve contacted or got permission to this file, check if the issue still persists.

We’ll keep an eye out for your response.

    Thanks for your response.

    1. The file is a shared file.

    2.  It is not happening to all files on my computer.

    3.  The files open and function properly when I log-in from other accounts on my pc and from other pcs within the organization.

I have permission to open both files.

    Thanks.

It’s possible that this is a user protocol that made by your organization that’s why you’re unable to open it with your user account. To resolve this concern, we suggest that you contact the IT Admin of your company to get further information and also they have the ability to provide you an access to this file with a specific user account.

Let us know what happens after you contact them. Otherwise, we’ll be here if you need further assistance.
