Planner - task Attachment

Hi,

I am attaching a PowerPoint file to a task in planner and selecting "show on card"

The picture displayed looks to be a completely random selection of elements or pages

Is it possible to show the first slide of the PowerPoint as the displayed picture on the card.

I have saved the files as: PowerPoint Presentation and PowerPoint Picture presentation

Any ideas?

Jason

Hi Jason,

I did a test as below:

  1. Create a presentation. Save it as PowerPoint Presentation with PPT1, and then save it as PowerPoint Picture Presentation as PPT2.
  2. Copy them for more copies. And then create tasks in a plan.
  3. Upload these copies to tasks.
  4. I find that PPT1 (PowerPoint Presentation) will always display the first slider. However, PPT2 (PowerPoint Picture Presentation) doesn't display the first slider in card.

Moreover, based on my test and search, I don't find options for setting to display the first slider for all PPT files. I suggest you submit your feedback via Planner Uservoice. This is the best way to let the related team hear your voice. Your feedback will help us perfect our products and services.

Thanks for your understanding.

    Thanks Tim,

I think that it is a bit more random than that.

Have just re-saved the files as PowerPoint presentations and the picture is different but not the first slide!

Interesting that if you upload a PDF then it is always the first slide.

I'll use the Planner Uservoice link and see what comes back

    cheers

    Jason
