Microsoft word Cursor issues

I just updated my Office 365 (Jan 2018), and every document I try to make continues to have issues with the cursor.

I am unable to click where I intend to; this is extremely frustrating when I am trying to take notes in class or highlight text etc.

Sometimes the cursor is a half a page away, so I have to click at the bottom of the page to line up where I want my cursor to click or highlight, while other times its only one line away. Once the cursor is not matching where I intend to click, & stops working I have to restart the entire thing. This has been such a nightmare, please help!

Hi Danielle,

I would like to suggest you check the following:

1.  Restart your mac and open Word 2016 to check if the issue occurs.

2.  Create a new document and check if the issue occurs.

3.  Perform a clean startup (safe mode) and then start Word to determine whether background programs are interfering with Word 2016 for Mac

Besides, please provide the information below so we can better understand your situation and help you.

1.  Does the issue occur to other Office applications, such as Excel or PowerPoint?

2.  Do you use a trackpad or magic mouse? If convenient, please try connecting to a different mouse or trackpad to see the result.

3.  The version build of Office you are using. You can check this from Word menu> About Word.

4.  Your Mac OS version build, you can check this from Apple menu>About this Mac.

Regards,

Joanne
