Hi, I have been struggling for several weeks when I try to configure the OneDrive client to have a local copy of the documents of my company's group in Sharepoint. This is getting really annoying since I have to go online, download a file, edit it, and then upload it again manually.
Local environment
Online environment
Basically the problem is that when I go to the online sharepoint website, select a folder and press 'sync' it shows a message:
'Preparing to sync... [..]'
and then a Windows error shows
and later
I have tried reinstalling the OneDrive client. Nobody else in my organization has this problem. Another weird thing is that if I try to do the same using another browser different from IE it does not trigger any action, doesn't show any warning and does not sync the folder.
I would really appreciate any help on this, as the situation is really annoying.

Hi Pablo,
Thanks for your update and detailed information.
We understand that you don't have issues when syncing files in OneDrive for Business to local computer, the issue only happens when you sync SharePoint files.
Please check whether the required registry key has been added:
Press Win + R, run regedit to open Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OneDrive, double click TeamSiteSyncPreview to open it, make sure the value of "TeamSiteSyncPreview" is set to 1.
If not, download and run the TeamSiteSyncPreview.reg from this article and enable SharePoint document library sync. (Use IE if you can't download this file.)
If the issue persists, try add your site as the trusted site in Internet Explorer.
Click Settings(gear) in the upper right corner in IE browser>Internet Options>Security>Trusted Sites>Sites>type the URL of your site in the Add this website to the zone box>Add
Besides, please try removing Window credentials in Control Panel, remove all credentials related to OneDrive.
Regards,
Tina
Hi Tina,
First of all thanks for the reply.
I'm not the Admin of my organization but my colleagues have the OneDrive sync functionality working fine, so I'm sure it is not a problem related with the configuration through the Admin center.
More info I can give you about my problem:
1. Microsoft Office: I uninstalled the Microsoft Office 2013 that I had installed and decided to upgrade the Office 365 subscription and download the Office 365 package from there.
2. New OneDrive Sync Client: Is the 2017 version (17.3.7131.1115)
3. Uploading/Downloading between OneDrive: When I press the OneDrive icon in the taskbar and open the local folder, I can create a document that then will appear when I go to my office365 account in the OneDrive online site. Same happens if I create a document online, automatically creating it in the local folder.
4. Issue synchronizing with Sharepoint:
Using Internet Explorer:
When I use another browser the only difference is that it does not show any of the warnings in the last two screenshots, but the dialog in the screen saying 'Preparing synchronization...' does not disappear and the folder is not synchronized either in the OneDrive.
Regards,
Pablo
