Hi,

Is it possible to automatically open a SharePoint library in Windows Explorer once a you click on a link?

I'm aware that you can manually open a library in Windows Explorer by selecting the "Open in Explorer" option, just wondering if there is any way to automate this.

Thanks in advance,

Cian

Hi Cian,

You can use OneDrive sync client to sync your SharePoint document library to your local system or map the library to a network drive. This way you can directly open the library from windows explorer.

Here’re the articles which will help you get started with the new OneDrive sync client:

Suggesting syncing doesn't address the question being asked; the best way to mimic the "open in explorer" action was to add a network location which used to provide a tree of your SP locations in the familiar windows explorer. I say "was" because Msft seems to have broken this functionality so it's become rather unreliable, just as "open in explorer" has.
