cannot start the source application for this object in microsoft office 2016

when I try to open an embedded object in excel, I get an error message "cannot start the source application for this object". I have tried repairing office, and still will not work. it works on another computer just fine but not mine. I have also tried the adobe fix as well.

Please help

    Beyond that - don't have anything else to suggest if that doesn't work for you other then switching to Office Insider and report the issue to MS from inside Office by going to File --> Support --> Contact Support

    If you're using a consumer Office sku - going to an Insider build is done by going to https://products.office.com/en-us/office-inside...

    If you are using a Business sku of Office - getting an Insider build requires using the Office Deployment Tool
