How to make Conditional Formatting in multiple cells based off the value of one cell

Hello, i'd like to set up conditional formatting so that when i type certain text into cell A1, that it will highlight the entire column of A1 through A5000, whether the cells of A2 through A5000 have any text in them or not.

Like in the example below, let's say i designate the certain text to be the word "car", when i type the word "car" into A1, conditional formatting will highlight not just A1, but all the cells from A1 to A5000, regardless of whether those cells have any text in them or not.

Is this possible?
