When using a hyperlink feature to reference a cell on another sheet within the workbook, it acts like an absolute address vs. a relative address with out without $ signs. Any fix for that?
I want to click on a cell and have it bring me to the reference cell on the other sheet to view.
tks, al

Hi,

Sorry, was away for a week. I believe the Hyperlink is the right function, and it works well as long as I don't move the referenced cells around. I click on a cell and it opens the other page within the same workbook at the proper cell to display text
that resides there. It's a real simple workbook as you can see. the highlighted in purple entry of ID!A5 works and brings up the A5 cell on the ID tab, but if I manually insert the formula with hyperlink, it gives an error message.
Hi,
This can be solved using the HYPERLINK(),MATCH(),INDEX() functions. I'll be able to offer specific help, only after I see your workbook.
What do you mean?:-
the reference cell on the other sheet to view
I want to click on a cell and have it bring me to a cell on another sheet within the same workbook where written description would reside. I want to be able to insert cells, lines etc. in that reference sheet while still having that link active and accurate.
The hyperlink feature works now, but there are no options for absolute or relative ($$) reference. so if I insert a line the cell is as f it's set as absolute thereby changing the info within the cell.
And... if I use the HYPERLINK function from the menu, even though it let's me choose the cell on the other sheet, the error "A VALUE USED IN THE FORMULA IS OF THE WRONG DATA TYPE) occurs.
