PowerPoint Online

Hello,

I'm currently working on SharePoint. When I try to open a presentation with PowerPoint Online, the file isn't displayed and shows up a window telling "Sorry, we cannot display slide {0} because we ran into a problem. Session ID: ..."

Instead, when I open the presentation by editing it with the normal PowerPoint programm it works perfectly.

Someone knows the reason behind this problem? How it can be fixed?

Thanks

Emanuele

Hi Emanuele,

Thanks for your private message.

We are glad to hear that the issue has been fixed. And I am posting your final solution below so other people who may encounter the same issue can have a reference.

"Some icons were not displayed because of the format, so I removed and pasted them as images. Now the presentation is displayed without problems also online."

Regards,

Rena

    Hi Emanuele,

Thanks for your updates. It seems the issue happens to all previous and new created presentations with this customized template.

To narrow down the issue, please provide the information below:

    1. Please try other internet browsers or open site in browser private mode to see if the issue persists.
    2. To check if the issue is only happening to this SharePoint site, can you help to confirm if the presentation has issue on another site?
    3. To check if the issue is related to the customized template, we would like to collect the example problematic presentation to test by our side. You can clear the confidential contents and just leave the normal information with this customized template. You can select this test presentation, click “copy link”, select “anyone” link, then apply.

    Thanks,

    Rena

    Hi Emanuele,

From your description, it seems you can edit the problematic presentation fine on your PowerPoint desktop client, if so, please try to save as a copy to the desktop, then re-upload this copy to the site to see if there’s any changes. If the issue persists, copy and paste all the slides to a new created one, then upload it to the site to see the result.

    Thanks,

    Rena

    Hi Rena,

thanks for your reply. I've followed both your suggestions but unfortunately the problem persists.

My company has a customized template for the presentations, it may be the source of problems?

It is strange because untill few days ago the presentation in question had no issues with PowerPoint Online.

    Thanks,

    Emanuele
