Keep Source Formatting doesn't work on Powerpoint on Mac

I have two Macs that do not display the "keep source formatting" option on Powerpoint. However, it appears on Word and Excel. One Mac has Powerpoint version 16.21 and the other Mac has version 16.16.16. My colleague has the 16.21 version and the option also appears for her. I have checked for other updates and do not have any other Office updates.

There must be an issue with your installations. The contextual clipboard icon at the lower left corner of the pasted content is showing here in both PowerPoint 2016 (16.16.6) and 2019(16.21).

As a workaround, if you click on the down-pointing arrowhead on the right side of the Paste button, you can choose Keep Source Formatting:

You can also add the command to your Quick Access Toolbar for single-click access:

    1. Click on the down-pointing arrowhead at the right end of the QAT and choose More Commands....
    2. Change Choose commands from: to All Commands.
    3. Scroll down to Paste and Keep Source Formatting and select it.
    4. Click on the right-pointing arrowhead button between the 2 lists. The command is added to the right-hand list.
    5. Choose Save. The command is added to the right end of the QAT.

Unfortunately this does not seem to be an option on the Mac version. There is no down-pointing arrowhead at the right end of the QAT (the ribbon at the top, right?) I'm also using 16.21 as an Office 365 subscriber. I've double-checked and my installation is up-to-date.

Is this perhaps a difference between the Windows and Mac versions?

    Hi David,

We apologize the inconvenience caused by this, but as I tested on my side, the Keep Source Formatting is displayed normally under drop down list.

The version is 16.22, please first update your Office and if issue persist in the latest version, we would kindly recommend you raise a new thread in this forum to get a dedicated help from our engineer.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Regards,

    Alex Chen
