PowerPointer - Can't print multiple slides per page using "print on both sides" option.

Hi

I am trying to print a PowerPointe document with multiple slides per page and i want to print on both sides. As soon as i press "print", even when the printer isdisconnected, i get an error saying "We found a problem with your printer setup and couldn't print". When the printer is connected exactly the same thing happens so i think the problem is somewhere in PowerPoint.

I've attached 1 screenshot where i get the error and the other one where i opened the print menu right before clicking "print".

Thanks in advance

We've already corresponded about this on StackOverflow (but it should be moved to the companion SuperUser forum).  If you'd rather pursue it here, that'd be fine also.

But to repeat my suggestion there, try printing from some other program on this same computer to this same printer.  Does it work?

Or go to Control Panel | Devices and Printers

Right-click the printer's icon, choose Properties and click Print Test Page.

If you don't get a printout of a test page, the printer driver on the PC is misconfigured and most likely you won't be able to print from any program, PowerPoint or otherwise.

Even from the same app (PowerPoint) printing 4 slides per page with 1 sided option works fine. The problem starts when i choose both-sided in addition to multiple slides per page.

So basically i can print multiple slides per page but can't print them on both sides (which is the only option that doesn't work).

    What could cause it ?

Aha, now we're getting somewhere.  That wasn't clear before.  Thanks.

Things to check next so that we can isolate the problem to specific settings:

Are you able to print something else two-sided from PowerPoint?

Notes pages or slides for example?

Can you print two-sided from any other programs on the same PC?

Check the printer driver: go to Control Panel | Devices and Printers, right-click the printer's icon, choose Printer Properties and go to the Device Settings tab.  Under Installable Options, what does it say next to Duplex Unit (for 2-sided printing)?  Installed or Not Installed.
