Power View Report doesn't work

I have Microsoft Office 365 Home with Excel 2016 updated to the September 2018 updates. When I click the Power View Report button, nothing happens. Is there a way to fix this?

I just installed Power Pivot and am working on a tutorial example report. Everything was working fine until it was time to insert the Power View Report. I had to create a custom group to insert the Power View button and added it to the ribbon.

    Hi Billy,

We'd like to ask the following questions for us to be able to isolate this issue further:

    • Are you able to select the Power View add-in on Excel before using the same Office 365 subscription? Does the issue occur after the updates?
    • Have you test the issue logging in to other user account profile on your computer and replicate the same issue on Excel?

We're looking forward to your response. Rest assured that we're still here when you reply back.

I tried all 3 of these and to no success. The Power View check box option doesn't even appear in my CD Add In options. Power Pivot and Power Maps do, but not the Power View Report.

    Hi Billy,

It appears that this issue could be due to a minor glitch in the Excel application. We recommend performing the methods I have listed below for proper isolation:

Note: The methods are listed in order. Kindly move to the next method if the previous one doesn't help the issue.

    Method 1:

Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC. Click here for the steps.

    Method 2:

Repair an Office application. Click on this link for the steps.

    Method 3:

Uninstall and reinstall Office. Check here for the instructions.

Feel free to post back for the results. Alternatively, if you have other concerns, kindly post a new thread. We're happy to assist you again.
