Office Pro Plus 2019 doesn't include OneNote???

Not sure why that is.  VL install.

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/OneNote-2016-is-missing-after-installing-Office-2019-or-Office-365-1844ba87-7248-4bd8-a735-66a52f98e6e5

So I follow the link and start the install.  It tells me "For install status, check the Office notification in the Windows Taskbar.

Windows 10, NO notification from Microsoft office.

The Win 10 built-in, hobbled OneNote cannot open the OneNote 2016 files and suggests I "convert" them.

Another Win for Microsoft????

I wish I could go back to 2010 when everything WORKED!

So, It's not installing.  Nothing is happening.

HOW do I get my so very valuable OneNote back since I upgraded OS and Office?

Hi David, I hope it does work for you, I understand your frustration, everyone is not happy with the removal of OneNote Office version and its replacement with the sub-standard App version . . ,

Yes, MS made the "improvement" to remove desktop versions of OneNote. Too bad they didn't bother telling anyone in advance or give them the option of which version to use.

They don't even bother telling people how to migrate their existing OneNote files to the "new & improved" version.

I think this article will answer that question for you:

The URL I pasted above is the 2016 install.  It doesn't do anything beyond the message I mentioned.

The OneNote Win10 app isn't compatible with files from older versions of OneNote.  How am I supposed to convert them?

OneNote is now available as a separate download, its the 2016 version though, since Microsoft is only focusing on the built in OneNote app in Windows 10 for future development.

Hi David, Microsoft has dropped support for the Desktop version of OneNote in favor of the App version for Windows 10 and that has been removed form the Office 2019 and 365 download . . .

Check this link for downloading OneNote 2016, it should work with your version of Office
