Combo Box not found error on Mac

Question

Hi,

Every time I open Word, it will work for a time, but if I wish to open a second documents this error appears. I believe it is related to Mendely but I do not use it and rather use Endnote. How can I disable the default add-in for Mendely and prevent this from happening as each time it does, Word crashes and costs greatly in terms of time because any unsaved data disappears (the incompatibility is sporadic).

You can ignore Ed's reply, it's completely wrong: you're using Word, not Excel and you're not using a JavaScript add-in, but a VBA one. Here are Mendeley's instructions on removing their add-in: How do I fully uninstall the Word Plugin?

If you are unable to use Mendeley Desktop to uninstall the add-in, you can remove it manually following these steps:

1. Open Word and choose Tools>Templates and Add-ins.
2. In the Global Templates and Add-ins section, select the Mendeley add-in. Make a note of it's location under Full path:, then close Word.
3. In the Finder, hold down the Alt key while clicking on the Go menu and choosing Library. Your user library folder opens. Navigate to the path you noted in the last step.
4. Delete the Mendeley add-in.
5. Restart Word and see if you have eliminated the error message.
