'Edit in Excel' function does not work in Chrome

I opened the Excel file in Sharepoint Online, then select "Edit Workbook" -> "Edit in Excel", I got alert "All done. You can close the tab now.", but nothing happen after, the Excel file did not opened in desktop. 

The "Edit in Excel" function works fine in IE.

    Hi Jim,

    In this situation, you may try to uninstall the Chrome browser and then re-install to see if it works. If the issue still exists, I’d like to collect some trace logs for further troubleshooting. For the detailed steps, I have sent you a private message.
