Finally got to the root of the matter, the user was still running Office 2013. Upgrading to 2016 resolved his issue.

I have an Access 2016 database (.accde format) that uses SharePoint lists (they're set to Hide from browser, if that makes a difference) as the backend. One user is receiving error 3033 "You do not have the necessary permissions to use the '[table name]' object. Have your system administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you." The user does have proper access to the SharePoint site, and the front end is on his desktop.
Other users have had this problem as well, and I found installing SharePoint Designer corrected it for them. This workaround did not work for this particular user.
Any ideas on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

After working a little more with my user, I've confirmed he can open and use the lists directly in SharePoint, so I'm thinking there is a security setting somewhere that is blocking his connection, but I can't find anything that is jumping out.
