I did an update and now I can't open my file. Can someone help me?

Sorry for the inconvenience the issue causes you. And we will try our best to help you on this.

Based on your descriptions, I assume you are trying to open the workbook within from Excel for Mac app but not from OneDrive sync folder. If it’s true, please check the information below according to the different scenarios.

Scenario 1: The issue happens to all files stored in your OneDrive. And the issue happens to not only Excel files, but also other Office files such as Word documents or PowerPoint presentations.

In this scenario, the issue may be caused by sign in issue. Please first check whether you can sign in Office well with the related account. If you meet spinning “loading” page or “no network connection” error message, this may be caused by a known issue which is still under investigation. But some customers have fixed the issue by updating the Office to 16.16.8. You can try and see the result.

Scenario 2: The issue happens to only this specific file.

In this scenario, we would like to suggest you copy contents to a new created file, and check whether the issue persists on this new file.

    Also you can try to start your Mac in Safe Mode to determine if some other program is conflicting

    If the issue persist you can also try to create a new user account.

    But if above suggestions didn’t work try to resolve the issue by completely uninstalling it and then reinstalling it
