Create Restricted Column In Shared Excel Workbook

Hi.

I am trying to create a workbook that has multiple users contributing to various portions but has one section that only a supervisor is allowed to enter data in.

I am trying to create a shared workbook in Excel that has one column restricted to certain users.  This can be done easily by using a regular Excel sheet but when it is shared through OneDrive it seems to lose the restriction.

How do I use Excel online to do this in a shared environment, or if not possible using online Excel, how do I create a workbook and share it without it losing the restricted column?

***I will need it to be able to run on a Windows 10 machine as well as a Windows 7 machine as we utilize both at my employer.***

Thank you for the help.  We are in a domain environment so hopefully this will take care off what I need.  This might be a little more complicated than it is worth but again thank you.

It is unfortunate that Microsoft Office development does not understand the need for this in shared workbooks as most are having to turn to using Google Docs for this.  Microsoft needs to learn that to continue to compete they need to make things easily available in a shared experience, especially for the workplace.

    Hi HyJax LTD,

    Thanks for the query here.

There is a similar requirement from this article Lock Cells to Certain People But Give Access to others in a Live Excel Online Worksheet. Is your organization in domain environment? If yes, you can set permissions accordingly.
