Why do my spreadsheets not scroll with the selected cell?

Not sure if these are related, but I will start with the copy command. It seems to me that when I selected a cell to copy in the past, it would de-select once I was done pasting and started typing or doing something else. I would then have to re-select it if I wanted to copy that same cell again. Now it seems that the last copy remains active until I hit Esc. My main concern though is with my spreadsheets scrolling. I haven't pinpointed all the different occasions but sometimes I will press the arrow keys to move around the spreadsheet, but the spreadsheet will not follow the "selected cell". The cell I am in is way off the screen somewhere. (Scroll Lock is not on) The reason that I started with the copy command is because I have noticed that this has an effect on the scrolling at times. I will say copy a cell in row one, hit Ctrl + the down arrow to go to the bottom of the list, but the screen won't follow. If I hit Esc to disable to copy command, I can then go to the bottom of the list and the screen does follow. I have also noticed that if I disable the "view" (freeze panes) the scrolling seems to go back to normal.

Anyway, it is frustrating and I have been putting up with it for at least two years now. Prior to that I never had this problem in 20 or so years of Excel use.

Any ideas?

Can you try updating your version.. the post talks about version update for resolution of the "keep copy" option.

If the scroll thing is related to it, it should also get resolved.

If the above does not resolve, please can you share your excel version details.

The scroll thing... is it happening in case of all files?

What if you open excel in safe mode... does the problem still exist?

First of all, thank you for the reply. The link that you referred me to though only showed me that others are having similar issues. I'm actually okay with the "keep copy" option or whatever it is called. Though it messes me up a lot because I was used to the old way, I have no problem hitting Esc when I remember to do so. It's the scrolling or lack of scrolling that is really driving me nuts.
