Microsoft Word format problems

Hi, I've been having this problem for over a year. Whenever I save my documents, the line spacing gets reformatted. For instance, if I were to write a paper with double-spacing, that double-spacing would be visible whenever I am in Microsoft Word. If I went to print it, email it, do a "Quick Look" preview in Finder, or submit it to a teacher, the paper is automatically formatted to single-spaced. I've had to convert every document I've wanted with different spacing to a PDF to ensure that my formatting wouldn't be changed. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Any idea on how to fix such a problem? I've asked this question before in the forum, but no one seemed to know what I was talking about or how to fix it.

    Hi Struggling Student,

Your reference to Finder tells me that you may be using a Mac rather than the Windows OS. If that is correct, please let us know.

Are you by any chance in Draft, Web or Outline view rather than Print View?

Spacing is paragraph formatting, usually controlled in styles.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions or require further help.

    Regards

There were two responses to your previous post.

If you send me a copy of a document, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will investigate the issue.

I'd suggest trying a couple of steps to see if that corrects the problem for you.

    1. First, an add-in or extension may be causing the problem. Start the application in Office Safe Mode.

The instructions to start Office in safe mode are here:

    1. If that doesn't correct the problem, try repairing the installation.

The instructions to follow to do this are here:

    1. Create a new user profile in Windows and see if it works correctly for the new profile
