OneDrive file corruption issues

I'm the IT tech for a small company; All users have O365 accounts, but only mobile users (latptops) are regularly using OneDrive (about seven people).

We're experiencing an increasing amount of file corruptions. When those users attempt to open a file from their local OneDrive folder they'll get a file corruption error; Office applications are unable to repair the file. Luckily we can go online and open a previous version and either restore or Save as to recover the file. Users have reported this happening with Word, Excel, and PDF files.

What I noticed today is that OneDrive is creating a new version every time the file is opened: I watched a user check a file that she hadn't opened in a few weeks get the file corruption error; she was attempting to open the local copy in her onedrive folder on her laptop. When we navigated to the online Version history, there was a version created just moments before that was corrupt, but the version from a few weeks back would open.

Is there an easy explanation for what we're experiencing, and is anyone else having a similar issue?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello, my name is Yohandi.

The error you are presenting is not from OneDrive because OneDrive does not open the document, the person in charge of opening the document is the application in which the document was created (word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF). OneDrive only synchronizes the documents to allow access to them.

The document can be corrupted by some parameter within it, by the antivirus installed on the computer among others.

I recommend that you make a repair of the Office, in the following link are the steps to follow.

    I hope this helps you
