Formula replication not working in a table

Generally, Excel copies formulas when a new row is added to a table.

I have just added a bunch on new columns to an existing table (say columns R to X) and populated the new rows and columns with a formula - which progresses conforming to the usual rules for relative references in adjacent rows and columns.

However, for any new row added to the table after this point, the cells is columns R to X are not being automatically populated with formulas derived from the rows above.

If you convert it to a range and then back to a table, does that fix it?

Are the new formulas different than the other formulas in the same column?
