Maps missing from Insert menu on Excel for Mac (Office 365)

Hi!

I have Excel on my Mac and I am logged in my Microsoft account which has an Office 365 Famille (I guess that is the French name for Office 365 Home) subscription. There is no Maps item in the Insert menu of the ribbon.

I had made sure the Excel version was up-to-date, but maps was still not showing. To make double sure, I downloaded the whole office suite again from my Microsoft Account page, and re-installed Excel, Word, etc...

Excel is showing a version of 16.14.1 (180613), and indicating License: Office 365 Subscription.

What is missing? Do I need to activate Maps somewhere?

Alain

There is no explicit "Maps" tool provided on the Ribbon. Once the appropriate data is selected click the Recommended Charts tool then select one of the Filled Maps options. Create a Map Chart - Office Support

Maps is a new feature that apparently is being "flighted," meaning that not everyone is seeing it at the same time.

Go to the Excel menu and choose About Excel. You will see your license type in the resulting dialog box. You will see this feature ONLY if your license type is Office 365 subscription.

I did not start seeing the Map feature until yesterday.

You are right that there is no Maps tool in the ribbon, even after reinstalling as per previous suggestions. You are also right that I can access the Maps option as you indicated.

However, the video you are referencing (and which led me to this whole loss of time due to 3 times reinstalling, as per everyone's suggestions!), this video DOES indeed show a Maps tool in the ribbon!!!

    Hi Alain,

Rohn007 is correct. The 16.14.1 should have this map chart feature if you have an Office 365 subscription.

To check why you don’t have the feature, please provide us a screenshot via Excel > about Excel.

In the meantime, I notice that you mentioned you download the Office suit from your Microsoft Account page, so I suggest you can try to uninstall then reinstall from this page to see the result.

    Thanks,

    Rena

Here is a list of update info for Office 365 Mac

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/...

Mac does not get all of the features the PC does. Look through the list to see if the feature should be there. Then make sure you have that version number or higher. OK, I stand corrected, it appears the new map features have been included with Mac

Here is a MS support page about using the feature, it is part of Mac 365

Here is another article about a map feature:
