Different UI - Excel Mobile for Android

Hello,

does anybody know why the UI on the two pictures below is different? How do I get the "ribbon" like UI on my phone? In both cases it's just factory reset Samsung Galaxy Note8, no user signed. I've noticed it's not related to just Note8 but also other phones in the electronics stores however I can't find what makes the difference or how it can be changed.

Thank you,

Hi Tomas, if you tap the button indicated the Ribbon interface should appear . . .

    Hello Dave,

not really unfortunately. When you tap the button this is what happens, see below. The format options open underneath the sheet which resizes the visible area of the sheet and basically makes it less comfortable although this is my own feeling of course. While the other Excel UI lets you change the formats etc. directly from the menu, more like Excel on computer if you will. You see? And I'd like to switch Excel on my mobile into that UI but I'm not able to or more precisely don't know how.

    Thx,

    Tomas

I have been through this article but it does not resolve my problem. It only makes me thinking that the UI I'm after is tablet-like. Which means that the phones in the store (running retail mode or so) are fooling Excel Mobile that it thinks it's tablet device thus the different UI. Question is how it's done and reproduce this on my phone :-(

    Thx,

    Tomas
