Excel Import from Access is empty

I have and use several queries in an Access 2016 database.  I can run the query and it populates correctly.  I can also export the query to Excel 2016.

The issue I have is with a new query - when importing the data from Access to Excel, the result is an empty set of data with column headers.  The matching query (run in Access) executes property and shows 9023 lines.

The navigator shows all 48 tables and queries in the database.  Other queries preview fine.

Any ideas?

Duane, thanks for the reply.  I found the issue with more searching.  It was the issue of Excel not recognizing the "*" wildcard in the Access criteria.  I had to change the setting in Access to make it use SQL (ANSI 92) standard.

For those "non-SQL" folks, perhaps MS could put an option in Excel such as "Work with Native Access Wildcards".

    Hi Richard,

Can you provide the SQL view of a query that doesn't work? Are there any parameter prompts or filters on the query?
