Column widths in ruler don't match table

I keep having this problem with tables in word. The column width adjustment bars in the ruler at the top of the document don't match up with the actual columns in the table, and i can't drag them around to adjust widths like I normally can with most tables. Any solutions?

Very odd, the document was on sharepoint, when i downloaded it to my desktop to send it to you, the issue disappeared!

If you send me a copy of the document, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will investigate the issue.

Was the screen shot from Word Online? In that case, note that Word Online may not display unsupported (or partly unsupported) formatting correctly.

    Hi Adam,

I create a Word document with table and I can't reproduce the issue you encountered.

To troubleshoot this issue, please try to repair your Office to see the outcome. You can follow the steps below to do that:

    1. Click Win+E to open file explorer.
    2. Type this path to open app list: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features.
    3. Right click Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus>Change>Online Repair.

Please have a try and share with me your result.

Besides, please also share with me more info as below:

    1. The version number of your OS(Win+R>type CMD>OK) and Office(File>Account>Product Information).
    2. Does this issue happen to all files or related ones?
    3. What have you changed before this issue happens?

    Thanks,

    Neo
