I cannot activate Office 2016 after migrating the application to a new computer. I am using Windows 10 Home.

I am trying to open Outlook, Word, Excel. The error message I get is: "Microsoft Office Standard 2016 configuration did not complete successfully."

The application closes. It won't operate on the new computer.

  • I cannot repair.
  • I cannot remove.
  • I cannot activate

RM, just to be clear you can only use the Product Key provided by the vendor to redeem Office 2016 once.  You can reinstall Office 2016 (after uninstalling it on the old computer) onto a new computer from your Office Account at: https://www.office.com/Myaccount You need to sign in with the same email address and password for the Microsoft Account that you used when you first installed your Office 2016 on your old computer.  You may need to contact Microsoft Support to activate, sometimes you do and sometimes you don't.

PS: use the link to the Microsoft uninstall tool to uninstall Office on your new computer before reinstalling it again.
