fitting text onto labels

Hello,

I have a word file with several copies of the same label to print labels, and everytime I print the text and pictures come off the actual labels on the paper. I was wondering if there is a way to shift the entire document up/down and left/right tiny bits and test accordingly so that everything will fit in the label.

Please spell everything out for me like I'm a child I'm terrible with technology. I have word 2019.

The issue may be that your printer is not capable of accurately feeding the label stock.  If you print to plain paper, how does the output line up with the label sheet?

When you have your label document as the active document, if you expand the Start Mail Merge dropdown in the Mailings tab of the ribbon and then click on Labels and then when the Label Options dialog appears, click on the Cancel button, the Update Labels button in the Write & Insert Fields section of the ribbon will have become enabled and then anything that you insert into the first label on the sheet will be copied to the other labels when you use that button.

    Thank you for your response.

I've been using the templates. Still when I print the text still is very slightly off. When I take it to a print shop they are able to shift the entire document by clicking arrows and it works. Maybe they are using a different software.

Also, using the template, is there a way to just enter the label stuff into a single square, and every other square gets filled in automatically? that way i just have to get one square perfect instead of all of them...

    thank you again,

    dave

Perhaps it would be better to start again from one of Word's built-in envelope templates? These are usually pretty accurate with regard to spacing and the label generator includes the tools to make minor adjustments.

Adding graphics to labels is tricky at the best of times - http://www.gmayor.com/graphics_on_labels.htm  explains how and works in the latest Word version.
