What is version of your Office on Mac?
Excel buttons not working
Hi there,
I recently installed Office 365 and the Excel package has some glitches.
- My buttons don't seem to be working correctly; namely SUM, merge, centre (the either go offline when I click them or nothing happens).
- I cannot drag the formulas across cells like previous years
- Basically functionality is slow.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the query.
All the buttons under Home tab work properly on my test with Excel version 16.18. Please go to Help > Check for Updates to make sure you have the latest version of Excel.
From the screenshot, it is a specific workbook. If the issue persists, could you please confirm the below information so that we can move forward in a proper direction?
- Does the issue occur to a specific workbook? If you create a new workbook, does the issue occur?
2. Start or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key to let your Mac enter in safe mode and check if the issue persists without the inference of third-party software and font. For more information, please refer to the article Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac. Does the issue occur in safe mode?

- After you installed Excel, did it work as you expect before? If yes, what changes have been made on your Mac?
- Your current Mac OS version ( Apple icon > About This Mac) and Excel version ( Excel > About Microsoft Excel).
