random horizontal lines from pen tip when annotating in PowerPoint slide show

I am a college professor and use my stylus to write on PowerPoint slides in slide show mode.  These are then projected on a screen.  I am using Windows 10 and Office 365.  During writing I often get random horizontal lines drawn left of the pen tip (see 2 lines coming off from the word, "one", below).  This makes it impossible to lecture this way.  Many of my colleagues have experienced the same problem with different computers.  I am using a Toshiba and they are using Surface Pro and Lenovo computers.

I have seen posts about this on Microsoft Support forums for the past 2 years.  I had an old Toshiba with Windows 7 and PowerPoint 93-97 that did not have this problem.

Please fix this or at least finally acknowledge that the problem exists.

    Please report this bug:

    1. Set up a screen shot that shows the problem, as in your post.
    2. In PowerPoint, choose File>Feedback and click on the I Don't Like Something button.
    3. Describe the issue, include the screenshot and your email and Submit the form. These reports go to the MS programming team.
