Formula Error when using Table #Totals

Anonymous

I'm trying to reference a column total from a table that's in another sheet and it's throwing a "There's a problem with this formula error" . The formula I'm using for that is =TableName[[#Totals],[TableColumn]], I have checked the table and column names and they seem correct. Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way to do that that's not using a direct cell reference?

Do as follows:

In your sheet type a = into a cell (do not press ENTER)

Switch to the other sheet

Click into the total cell, then press ENTER

It just worked, oddly enough, considering i tried that before and it gave me a direct cell reference. Looks like the problem was i was using a comma instead of a semicolon. Thanks!

Try changing the table to a range and then back to a table and then click in the cell.

If i try clicking on the cell it gives a direct reference(Sheet1!B8). I typed it with the help of the formula auto completion.

That should work. Are you typing it out, or clicking the cell to get the reference?
