What AS2 connector to use in production?

Hi,

Recently we have up a logic app to receive AS2 messages and then send a Sync MDN back along with a custom XML message that is encoded by AS2 and sent over HTTPs. That process is fine and it is working but before we get this into production I need to clarify one thing. I’m using both AS2 connectors to accomplish this, both the AS2 connector along with the AS2 v2 (Preview) connector.

I had been just using the AS2 v2 connector as this is what the MS docs are leaning towards even though it is not clear. On one of the pages mentions that the original connector is going to be deprecated and to use the v2 version. (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/logic-apps/logic-apps-enterprise-integration-as2) But it’s still in preview and learnt this the hard way when I tried to get support. The AS2 v2 connector isn't working with the log analytics workspace solution (Logic Apps B2B) myself and a support engineer couldn't get the connectors to send data to it at all. It just never registered any data from the integration account. It wasn’t until I setup the original connector it then worked and was sending data fine. Then I was told not to use the preview connector by support which has now led me to asking this question here.

I guess I (the community) just need some sort of clarification on what connector to use in a production environment as I not conformable with deploying a preview connector but it does work well and does it job. This is before I go converting the whole process into using the old connector knowing my luck I would then be told its going on X date.

Along with this maybe make it clear on the documentation or at least send an update on timelines if it will ever come out of preview.

@JohnOKeeffe-3566, Thank you for pointing this issue out to us, and I am sorry for the delay in my response. As suggested by the product team.
The new AS2 v2 offers better throughput and latency when compared to AS2 connector. The reason the new AS2 V2 is still in preview is we do not support tracking on the new AS2 V2 as of now (it’s in our backlog to support this). If you want tracking capabilities (and if the issue you faced is related to tracking), we will suggest that you refrain from using the new AS2 V2 connector in your production environment and use the AS2 connector instead. If not, would suggest using the new AS2 V2 connector and we will offer GA like support on that.
