[Moderator's note: Steven later replied that suggestion #2 solved the problem.]

Hi Steven,

We suggest you try the following and see if PowerPoint can run normally:

1.Run PowerPoint as administrator: click Start>find PowerPoint and right click it>More>Run as administrator.

2.Try opening PowerPoint in safe mode:

1)Press Windows + R to open the Run window

2)Type powerpnt /safe and click OK.

If the PowerPoint doesn't crash in safe mode, the issue should be related to PowerPoint add-ins.

3.Quit all Office applications, perform a clean boot on Windows to determine if any program causes the issue.

For your reference: How to perform a clean boot in Windows

If the issue persists, please let us know the following information for troubleshooting:

1.You mentioned that PowerPoint will crash after opening 5 seconds.

What steps do you do within the 5 seconds? Or you haven't done anything before it crashes?

2.Does the issue happen to other Office applications? (Word/Excel/OneNote)

If the issue doesn't happen in Word, please click File>Account and capture a full screenshot of Product Information.

3.You mentioned that you have tried reinstalling Office.

Did you use the easy fix tool to completely uninstall Office before reinstalling Office?

You can get the easy fix tool from this article.

Regards,

Tina
