Hi Colin
The Access application uses a lot of the underlying code base (dll's) that is built into the Windows operating system kernel and DotNet Frameworks, which the Mac OS lacks . . .
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I know Microsoft do not have a MS Office "Access" database program that will run on a Mac.
I also know there are NON Microsoft alternatives.
But can anybody tell me why this is?
Additional Comment: Very frustrating to find a major component of a software suite that will not run on a Mac. Yes, this is pointed out on the blurb but is hardle made obvious.

Simply not compatible and MS doesn't seem like they wish to invest in the required code changes (from what I have heard over the years it would need a complete rewrite, but only the Dev Team could truly answer the why not properly). We have mentioned this several time in the past, but just no interest from MS to make it a reality.
There have been numerous suggestions in the uservoice forum, from which Microsoft is supposed to listen to their users, and nothing there either, all closed with the "No current plan" comment from Microsoft.
