Problem with cursor movement in bidirectional text in Word 365 ProPlus

My default language is Hebrew (and RTL mode respectively), and I use visual cursor movement setting.

When I write any LTR text (include English and also numbers), the cursor indeed moves while I press on the right arrow from right to left, but it returns again and again from the rightmost character of the LTR text to the leftmost and doesn't continue further as expected. This prevents a normal using in that cursor movement.

Do you have an advise how to fix it (that is not just use logical cursor movement)?

Thanks.

I suggest running the Word app through Safe mode and check if an add-in or extension might be causing the issue. If it's a no go, you can repair the Office suite and check if it helps solve the concern. If the issue persist, try uninstalling and reinstalling Office 365. You can click on this link.

Hi Bob and thank you for your response.

First note that I have Office ProPlus, not Office Home.

    Regarding to your questions:

    • This is happening only in Word. In Excel the setting of visual cursor movement is ignored and behaves as the logical. In PowerPoint as I know there is no option to set this feature. Note that (only) in Access the visual cursor movement works as expected.
    • My version is 1901. The build version is 11231.20130  .
    • It started when I first installed the Office, two month ago more or less.
    • The previous answer...
