I have the 2016 Word for Mac. When I hover my cursor over the endnote superscript, the endnote text does not appear. How can I enable that feature?

Then have a look in Word> Preferences> View to see if the check box has been cleared for Comments on rollover.

Make sure your Office installation is fully updated. Version 16.13 (or later for Insiders) is the current build.

If you're referring to endnotes/footnotes inserted soon after launching the program: I can't explain why, but even in current versions the tip boxes may not show up initially... Sometimes there seems to be a brief delay.  Check again once the program has been running for a few minutes.

Thanks for the reply, but the issue remains. I do have version 16.13. I believe a setting may not be correct.
