Excel Bug

If you create a new excel file on the desktop, it sets the “date created” to 6/5/2015. This only happens with a right click on the desktop, select new>excel worksheet, open the file, look at “date created” under file ribbon.

    Thanks for the quick reply, I found it stange that there is not more news on this bug (I havent found any posts on this issue). I actually submitted my excel file as a project for school and the professor thought i had cheated and used someone elses old project!  At least now he knows I didnt cheat!

    Hi Jack

    Have your professor look at the Properties dialog to see the actual Creation and Modified date and while they are at it, they should give you extra points for finding this bug that they did not know of :))

    Hi Jack, well spotted, this is a long known bug in Excel.

    The good thing is that is not reflected on the actual details of the file itself, if you right click and choose properties . .
