IPad Word App Formatting question

I’m not sure which of the past few updates caused this to happen.  My paragraph formatting gets undone when I open a document in the app.  I had it set to indent the first line of a paragraph automatically.  The app undid all of my indents and everything is now all left justified.  Is this something that is going to be fixed soon.  I can go into the desktop version and reset my settings, but it’s kind of annoying to have to do this.  It would also be nice to have the paragraph setting menu within the app.

Thank You!

I am using version 2.15.  The app just did it again with a new file that I started last night.  I had the paragraph settings configured on the desktop version.  When I opened the file on my iPad it undid the paragraph settings.  It doesnt’t seem to affect anything else other than the automatic indent setting.

We’d like to learn more about your concern. Could you tell us which build and version of Word app is installed on your iPad? Please check on this article for a list of the builds of Office for iPad.

Also, we’d like to ask. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Word on your iPad? If not, press and hold on the Word app icons until they start to shake, then tap on the (x) button in the corner to delete it. Once it’s done, restart your device. If in case you didn’t see the (x) button, make sure the Delete Apps is not restricted under Settings > General > Restrictions.

A disclaimer: To avoid losing files, we suggest that you create a backup.

To reinstall the Word app, you need to go to the App Store specific to your device and search Word and then click Install. Once it’s installed, open the application and sign in to your Microsoft account that’s associated with your Office 365 Home subscription to activate it. For your reference, you may check on this link.

Please reply to this thread with the results so we can assist you further.

It started about a month ago and it affects any file that I open in Word on the iPad.  I am currently using the current version of Word on all devices.  I noticed this thing appear on my ruler around the same time right where the 0.5" indent marker should be.  Like I said in my original post, if I open the file in the desktop version I can reset my paragraph settings.  Then it'll fix the first line indent and continue to automatically do it on the iPad going forward.

    Hi Joe,

To isolate your concern, we’d like to know if all of your files are affected. Also, can you tell us when did the issue start? In the meantime, we suggest installing the latest Office Updates on your device. To install them, you need to go to the App Store specific on your device, then go to your installed apps. Choose Office applications one-by-one to install the update. Once they are installed, restart your device and check if the issue resolves.

We’ll keep an eye out for your reply.
