Hello,

I am having problem with number formatting on my Excel 2016 for Mac. Every time I type decimal value, the cell keeps displaying wrong number and different format and. For example,

1.1 becomes 01.01

1.2 becomes 01.02

1.25 becomes 01.25

12.75 becomes 0,5520833

but when I type again 12,75 becomes 13,15

What is wrong with my Excel. Can someone help me please. This is very frustrating.

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,

Jukhi

It’s the regional settings on your Mac. They affect how numbers are shown in Excel. There’s more info here:

As additional information, I have to use comma for excel to correctly do calculation, for example, instead of type in 1.25 which will display 01.25, I must type it as 1,25. In this way I can get a proper calculation, e.g 1,25 + 1,25 = 2,5.

Thank you very much Jason, yes it's the regional settings that caused the problem.
