Converting files

Question

Hi,

I want to try open .onetoc2 with the new One Note Windows 10 version, how can I proceed?

With One Note 2016 I get an error: This location xx cannot be opened as a notebook because it is a system folder

I am pretty sure the format most probably the issue here. Can anyone help me out, I would really appreciate it?

Hi Bahador,

Generally, .onetoc2 is a Microsoft OneNote index file that stores information about the order of note-taking sections. It is used to organize a collection of notes in a notebook. The .onetoc2 files only appear in OneNote notebook folders as Dave mentioned above.

If you would like to open a whole notebook, you can find the .onepkg file in the folder to view it normally in OneNote 2016.

Hi Bahador, the onetoc2 file is only a Table of contents for a OneNote File, it is not the actual OneNote file, it is generally created when you have that OneNote notebook open

Have you copied over OneNote notebooks form another PC
