Decrease the Header height in Word

Kindly advise how I can reduce the Header Height in Microsoft Word?

    There are two things that control the space taken up by the header:

    1. The distance from the top edge of the page, which is set on the Layout tab of the Page Setup dialog. By default it is set as 0.5" and while you can reduce it, if you reduce it to much the header text may fall in the unprintable area for your printer.
    2. The content of the header and the formatting of the paragraphs in the header.  Turn on the display of non-printing characters so that you can see if there are any empty paragraphs in the header.

    The above is assuming that the text in the body of the document is being forced below the top margin by the header content.  If that is not the case, you could reduce the top margin.
