I am using Word 2007. I have been putting title of book on the even page and the author's name on the odd page. The instructions say to click on "Different Odd & Even", when I check the "Different Odd & Even" the page numbers are not in order. When I unclick the the "Different Odd & Even" the page numbers go back to what they should be.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the help.

When you enable "Different odd & even," your document has two headers (and two footers). You will have to re-add the page numbers to the added header (or footer). Just double-click the header to activate the header/footer view and then click where you want your page numbers. Press Alt+Shift+P to reinsert the page number field.
