Why can't I adjust thickness of borders in Excel 2013 (This function is missing as an option)? Is there a patch I can download?

    Hi ChrisMenard_7

Yes I have a Border Tab but there is no option to adjust the thickness of a border that is applied.

This is normally beneath the colour box on the left hand side when the Border Tab is opened.

    It is newly created workbook.

    Hi Dave,

I've tried the repair option a couple of times but the option to adjust border thickness is still missing.

I'm a little concerned about attempting to uninstall Office Pro 2013 as the Microsoft website does not seem to recognise my product code even though this worked fine on initial install. Also my Office Pro 2013 is not showing as a subscription on my Microsoft account?

Just to clarify, when you right-click a cell, click Format Cells, you don't have a Border Tab? By chance is the Excel file shared?

Hi Chris, follow these steps to repair your Office installation . . .

Open Control Panel - Programs and Features

Click Microsoft Office in the list of installed applications

    At the top, click 'Change'

On the resulting dialog, click 'Repair'

That should fix any issues with your Office Installation . . .

NOTE: Please be advised, before attempting a repair, have your Microsoft Office Product Key at hand, Office may need to be re-activated in some cases

Try repairing your Office installation. First try Quick Repair (takes 5 - 10 mins) , if that doesn't help then try Online Repair (Takes more than 30 mins but less than 1 hour in general)

Note - Please repair only if you have product key with you as sometimes it asks for the product key again after the repair.
