How long have you had this 365 Home subscription. About a month?

This sort of problem can happen when you have a factory installed free trial, then you install a purchased copy. Having 2 unactivated copies at the same time "confuses" the activation system. But it does not tell you that at the install /activation time.  The problem shows up when the free trial expires, 30 days later.

    • In the Start menu search for Apps & Features.
    • look through the list to confirm you have one or more copies of MS Office installed
    • if you do find 2, uninstall the older, first installed one
    • on the remaining one, click on Modify, select Repair.

    Hi,

If you have a product that need product key, you have to find it before start.

Try the steps in the following order:

1- Reset your password account online first and check if you can sing in online with the new password.

2- Just If are you using an office 365 click to Run Product follow the steps: Remove Office 365 license for Subscription based installs (not Shared Computer Licensing scenarios): To remove the Office 365 license, you must run two cscript command lines. The command lines are:

    A. Run C:\program files <x86>\Microsoft office\office15>cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus The above command line will generate a report of the currently installed/activated license.

    B. Make note of value for “Last 5 characters of installed product key”

    C. Run C:\program files <x86>\Microsoft office\office15>cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:“Last 5 of installed product key” For example: C:\program files <x86>\Microsoft office\office15>cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:WB222. Repeat the step above if necessary until all keys are removed. After running the /unpkey: command line you will see a “Product Key uninstall successful” message. You can now close the Command Prompt and move onto Step 2.

3- Remove cached identities in HKCU registry:

    A. In the Registry Editor navigate to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0 or 16.0\Common\Identity\Identities and remove all of the identities under \Identities.

NOTE: If using Shared Computer Licensing remove the above Identities from HKEYUsers\SID.

Now try to activate with the following tool https://outlookdiagnostics.azureedge.net/sarase...

Or execute the below tool http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/0/5/50...

Also to Fix Unlicensed Product errors yourself, If you've tried the earlier troubleshooting steps and Office is still unlicensed, you can troubleshoot activation failures yourself.

    Try these first

Check your computer's date, time, and time zone

    Run Office as administrator

    Update Office

    Repair Office licensing

    Check connectivity

    Check your firewall

    Check your antivirus software

    Check your proxy settings
