Microsoft provides DNS for office365 (documentation). Right now I'm failing to find out if they provide an API for it. it''d be great if someone could drop a link here or tell me if there is none.

Hi Till,

Based on your first reply, I would like to mention that Office 365 does not offer hosting services. We simply offer the ability to use your domain with our services. Office 365 can also help manage the domain such as adding specific DNS records.

For Office 365 related APIs, I do not see anything related to DNS APIs.

Regarding certbot, my understanding is that the tool uses API from the hosts, so Office 365 may not fall into this category.

Regards,

Sheen

    Hi Sheen, hi Neo,

the question is not hosting related. Let'sEncrypt provides multiple methods to proof ownership of a domain. The best option for things that are not hosting related is validation through a TXT record. As you say you offer DNS with office365 and that is what I am using for some domains. I'd like to create a certificate for a hostname and Let'sEncrypt would do that quite well. Without an API though it would require manual work every other month so I'll probably move DNS to AWS or google in the future.

    Best regards,

    Till

Sure: I'd like to see a DNS plugin for certbot.
