Vlookups using master data in Excel

I'm trying to do mass updates using the master data add-in for Excel to update my SQL server data using the Vlookup function. After I opened my excel workbook, I connected to my SQL server and downloaded my data,  from there I filtered down on a series of data I want to update and copy and pasted it into another tab of the workbook. In order to Publish my changes, I need to upload my data through the master data add-in. I would like to be able to do a vlookup from my master data to my second data tab, then copy/paste my updates without overwriting other rows of data that are not being updated.
