Installing OfficeCustomUIEditor

On a Mac, running Windows 10 under Boot Camp. It keeps asking for .NET Framework 3.0. I've been trying to install all day. Multiple tries with all versions of Framework starting with 3.0. No luck. I'm beginning to think the installation is not possible on a Mac under Boot Camp?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thank You,

Kevin

Doing some internet sleuthing... i found this - in this case, the person couldn't install net framework 4.5 at all (not your problem)... but if you are accessing it via VMware or another method, try using native access: "I was using VMware to access my bootcamp partition, where it didn't work. When I rebooted into "pure" bootcamped windows it worked". (I'm tempted to try it on my mac, but I'm out of town and the mac i have with me is really slow.)

Finally, SOLVED!

I did some more hunting. This time I searched .Net Framework Activate. I found a long thread and tried several ideas. It fixed both my installer problem, and my .Net Framework problem. After it finally installed my Windows update, I went back to the Control panel as you had suggested and switched on Framework 3.5. After accepting the change, this time a dialog said it had to download some needed parts of Framework. After a few minutes a dialog said I was good to go, no restart needed. The UI Editor installer fired right up and installed. I'm thrilled!

Thank you again Diane for the help with this, you gave me hope! :-)

Here is the post with the fix, hopefully it helps someone in the future as it did me. Thank you to Jon Jansson for taking the time to post:

I was unable to install Windows updates as well and after trying all solutions here i finally found this solution which solved both issues

  1. In the search box on the taskbar, type cmd.
  2. Right-click Command Prompt in the search results and select Run as administrator.(Select Yes, when prompted by the User Account Control.)
  3. In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter:

SC config trustedinstaller start=auto 4. Restart the PC.

Correct, it is not for the mac - you'll need to use a windows machine. See http://www.rondebruin.nl/mac/macribbon/ribbonma... for help customizing ribbons on a Mac.

Thank you Diane. I'm following Ron's steps, I mistakenly thought my Mac became a Windows machine when running Windows 10 under Boot Camp. Oh well.have a great night!
