Hi Will, I'm Amanda, an Independent Advisor.
If you open up the start menu, type "excel.exe" and then right click on the suggestion for excel and click open file location, is that what you are looking for?

I am trying to find the location of the office 365 version of Excel in my file system so I can use it as the default app to open multiple file types. Using the shortcut results in a "Catastrophic failure" error.

Hi Will
Open Excel
Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc)
On the processes tab, find Excel, right click and choose Open File Location
That will show you where the executable is located . . .
