We are moving all out files onto Sharepoint, so I have to re-link the datasource for a database. The source is an Excelfile which is now also stored on Sharepoint but when I try to re-link to this location I get an error that "You cannot use an Internet address here. Enter a path that points to a location on your computer or network". Any idea how I can do this?

Qing's link does not speak about your scenario. That's because it is not a supported configuration. When an Excel file is "in SharePoint", you mean "in a document library in SharePoint". Such documents cannot be linked to.

You either check out the document to your local machine and link to it, or move the data into a SharePoint List.
