I am designing a voting for 15 different ideas and select top 3 by voting.

3 Questions

Question 1

Thinking of adding 15 ideas to column but so far can only add up to 7 ideas.

Any way to add more than 7 columns.

Question 2

Another way is to add 15 rows but I can only add up to 10 rows.

Any way to add more than 10 rows.

Question 3

When adding 10 different ideas in a row and select top 3 from these ideas,

I want to know a way to limit the selection such that only one idea can be

selected as the best idea, only one idea can be selected as the 2nd best idea,

and only one idea an be selected as the 3rd best idea.  Meaning that

out of case 1 to case 10, if case 1 is selected as the best idea, then case 1

can not be selected as the 2nd best idea but be selected from the other 9 ideas.

If case 2 is selected for the 2nd best idea, then the case 1 nor case 2 can not be

selected for the 3rd best idea.

Hi Yuya,

Thanks for posting in our forum.

It seems like that you are using the Likert question type. If so, we would like to share with that we can only select one option for each statement. And currently, it can be increased to 7 options and 10 statements at most. We do understand your feeling and there are some related features requests in our UserVoice forum.  At any rate, you are welcomed to vote on them via the following links. If there are a lot votes, our product group may pay more attention to it.

Increase the possible number of statements in Likert scales!!

More than 7 Options in Likert Scale

For the likert type, it would be nice to have possibility to check multiple answer for each statement.

Your understanding and feedback are highly appreciated!

Regards,

Zixuan

    Thank you for the response.

Understand now of the present limiation of the MS Forms.

Will wait for other votings to have more attention to this case.

Meanwhile I will think and try to use a combination what is available

    Hi Yuya,

My understanding is that you use Candidate as the option, and "the best, 2nd best, and 3rd best" as the statements. This is why you are able to select select all three (the best, 2nd best, 3rd best) for one candidate.  However, there is not an out-of-box feature to force different options for each statement. You may add a note in the question for the voters.

Additionally, considering you have 10 candidates however we can increase 7 options at most in the Likert question, you may consider creating three questions with Choice question type like below:

We are not be able to force different options for each questions either in this way, but it allows us to add all the ten candidates as options in each question. Hope it helps.

For any good suggestions and feedback, you are welcomed to post in our UserVoice forum. This is the best method to help us improve our products. We appreciate your time and understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Zixuan

    Hello Zixuan Yuan,

One correction to Likert type, what I wanted to achieve is the following.

For example, I have 10 candidates and want voters to select the best, 2nd best, and 3rd best and select 3 different candidates.

In the present Likert type, I can select all three (the best, 2nd best, 3rd best) for one candidate.  I want a Likert system such that if candidate "1" is selected for the best, then this candidate "1" can not be selected for the 2nd best, nor 3rd best.

    Kind Regards,  Yuya Umezu
